Is the subprime mortgage crisis finally hitting the bush?

DISPATCH BY BREE KESSLER

Overnight the for sale signs arrived.  One of the buildings has been up for sale for months, but there are two sales came as a surprise — especially since no one in town seems to know who owns the now for sale tent like structure located next to the park service office.   There are very few buildings in Bettles, so as I rode my bike down the one gravel road through town and saw the sight of three buildings, one after another, for sale it made me laugh and think: Is the subprime mortgage crisis finally hitting the bush?  Is this what the subprime mortgage crisis would look like in the Arctic?
